To change the rear axle bearings cartridge on a Schwinn Meridian electric trike, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the power to the trike and remove the battery.
  2. Remove the wheel from the trike by loosening the nuts or quick-release skewer that secure the wheel to the frame.
  3. Remove the locking ring or snap ring that secures the axle bearing cartridge in place. You may need to use a pair of pliers or a snap ring pliers to remove the ring.
  4. Pull the axle bearing cartridge out of the wheel hub.
  5. Clean the inside of the hub and the outside of the new bearing cartridge with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  6. Insert the new bearing cartridge into the hub, making sure it is seated properly.
  7. Install the locking ring or snap ring to secure the bearing cartridge in place.
  8. Reinstall the wheel onto the trike and tighten the nuts or quick-release skewer.
  9. Turn on the power to the trike and test the wheel to ensure it spins freely and without any wobbling.

Note: If you are not confident in performing this procedure, it is recommended to take the trike to a qualified technician or bike shop to have the bearing cartridge replaced. Don't take risks, take precautions.
