How Can I Copy Old Taped Voices,from Reel-reel Tape Recorder,onto My Vgn-fe21h

Ive tried using a cable from the output of the old tape,to the microphone input ,but nothing seem,s to work, what do I need to et the taped voices onto the computer

Make sure you are selecting the microphone port as the source in the program you are using to record it. Your computer probably has a built-in microphone so don't confuse the two. If it still doesn't work then I would have to guess the output on the reel-to-reel player doesn't work.
