I Paid For My Luggage And I Didn't Use. Can I Use Next Month?

When I went to NY I was with a small carry on and they told me to pay after that I did  check in. My husband went by Internet and paid but he wrong and paid from NY to FLL and I paid  38 $ To go to New York. Yesterday I came from New York to FLL and was pais luggage but I didn't have with me, just my purse. I told them and they told that I have talk  to guys from Internet . Next month I go again.
