You do not actually need to reset your Twitter entire account if you forgot your password. You can still recover your Twitter password by following the steps provided belo from Twitter support website. How to send yourself a password reset via SMS:

If you've added your mobile number to your account in your Mobile settings, you may receive a password reset via SMS/text message.

  1. From the Forgot password? page and enter your mobile number or Twitter username.
  2. Select Reset via phone, if prompted.
  3. Twitter will text you a six digit code that is valid for 15 minutes.
  4. Enter this code on the web
  5. You will then be prompted to choose a new password.
How to send yourself a password reset via email:
  1. From the sign in page on either twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for Android or Twitter for iPhone, select the Forgot password? link or click here
  2. Enter your email address or Twitter username.
  3. Check your email inbox. Twitter will immediately send a message to your account's email address.
  4. Click the reset link in that email.
  5. Choose a new password
Requiring additional information to request a password reset:

If you frequently receive password reset messages that you did not request, you can require additional information be entered in order to initiate a password reset:

  1. On a computer, go to your Account settings page.
  2. Scroll down and check the box next to Require personal information to reset my password.
  3. This will require that you enter your account email address or mobile number, in addition to your username, in order to send a password reset email or SMS/text.
