Mail Delivery Problem

came on visit out of town and ended up having health issue preventing me from leaving in January. Called post office where I live and went to post office here in town am staying at to find out best way to have mail forwarded. was told by both to file address change and then back to original when get back to where I live. My mail has been spotty from the beginning and thought I was missing a good bit of my mail. Confirmation when I enquired at car tag office why I had not received new sticker for car for this year although check had cleared several weeks ago. Tag office checked and confirmed had been sent but sticker was sent back to tag office by post office. Tried to check on how my mail status is listed online before talking to post office but page has changed and no longer see a way to pull up delivery status-I need help!!!!!!!!
