As long as you cancelled your flight reservations for February BEFORE the flights departed, your ticket should still have value towards travel on United within the year you purchased it.

Your situation has special merit since you suffered a major heart attack.  Airline tickets usually charge a fee to make changes after the ticket is purchased, but I recommend you contact United and explain the situation and it's possible they will waive the change fee if you can provide medical documentation, less a small processing fee.  Usually the change fee is $150 plus any difference in airfare depending on your new travel details & flight availability, but I know the airline often waives the change fee less $50 if you have legitimate medical documentation.

When you call United, you will need details of your original ticket, such as the ticket number.  You can contact United at 1-800-864-8331

Wishing you the best.
