You need to call United immediately so they can help you. Within 24 hours of purchase you can cancel the ticket without penalty - but in this case it sounds like all you need is your last name corrected. The quicker you do this, the better off you'll be.

Call United at 1-800-864-8331 and give them your confirmation so they can assist.
