You can check-in for your flight & print your boarding pass (unless your trip is interntional) 24 hours before the flight departs.

Click on this link and it will guide you through the online check-in process. If for some reason you're unable to print the boarding pass, don't worry. You can still get your boarding pass when you arrive at the airport. You can either get it at the airport ticket counter or via one of the check-in kiosks located in the United ticket counter area.

You do not have to have a copy of your electronic ticket to travel. The benefit of electronic tickets is that all you need to travel is a government issued id (for international travel a valid passport & visa if required). If you don't have your confirmation or your electronic ticket number, simply tell the airline ticket counter agent where you're going and if necessary, approximate time of travel, and they can find your reservation, check you in and send you on your way.
