Go through the wireless settings and removed saved networks

In XP: Network connections - right click on wireles - properties - wireless networks - removed all in 'Preferred'

In Vista/7: Network and Sharing Center - manage wireless networks - remove all

Reconnect to wireless, could be a possible saved setting conflicting with the wireless network and not allowing you to get online.
