Does World Market Even Care About Their Customers?

I purchased what I believed was a new patio set a few days ago. It was deliver a couple hours ago, and when the driver arrived, he told me that the chair in my set had some rather significant damage. I had already been told by the store that this was the last chair available. He took pictures of the damage before leaving the store, and was told that he should have me call the about getting some kind of adjustment for the damage if I still wanted the chair to my set. I believed him and called the store as he drove away. The âA533;A533;ManagerâA533;A533; of the store told me I would just have to accept the damage because she wasnâA533;A533;t going to do anything to compensate me. I asked to speak to her superior.. she said she was âA533;A533;itâA533;A533; and I should just live with it., I asked for the number to the corporate headquarters, she left me on hold for about 5 min, then came back with a number. I verified it Twice. When I called the number, it was a bank. I feel incredibly Taken by World Market

Sorry for your problems. Here are some steps to consider, in order:
  1. Complain to corporate: use the corporate contact information at: http://www.corporateofficeowl.com/us%20cellular/Corporate%20Office. Though it may be hard, keep your temper and bend over backwards to be polite.
  2. Unless there's immediate satisfactory resolution, dispute the charge with your bank (if you paid by credit or debit card). If you paid by check you could stop payment, but this route could more easily result in problems for you.
  3. Call the consumer protection office of your state. You can find it at https://www.usa.gov/state-consumer/.

In addition, you may want to consider a review/complaint site like www.complaintsboard.com/,,,, http://www.consumeraffairs.com/, or https://www.yelp.com/, each of which may get action from the offending companies
