To monetize your videos on YouTube and run ads on them, you will need to meet the eligibility criteria set by YouTube and adhere to their monetization policies. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

1. Eligibility: Ensure that your YouTube channel meets the minimum eligibility requirements. You need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months.

2. AdSense Account: You will need to create an AdSense account if you don't have one. Link your YouTube channel to your AdSense account. This will allow you to receive payments and earn money from the ads shown on your videos.

3. Enable Monetization: Sign in to your YouTube account, go to the YouTube Studio, and click on the "Monetization" tab on the left sidebar. Follow the prompts to enable monetization for your channel.

4. Set Up Ad Formats: Once monetization is enabled, you can choose the types of ads you want to display on your videos. This includes display ads, overlay ads, skippable video ads, and non-skippable video ads. You can manage these settings in the "Monetization" section of your YouTube Studio.

5. Comply with Policies: Ensure that your content complies with YouTube's ad-friendly guidelines and community guidelines. Avoid using copyrighted material without proper permission.

6. Create Quality Content: Focus on creating engaging and high-quality content that adheres to YouTube's policies. Quality content is more likely to attract viewers and advertisers.

It's important to note that the amount you earn from ads on your videos will depend on various factors, including the number of views, ad engagement, and the advertiser demand for your audience. Keep creating and promoting your content to grow your audience and maximize your earnings from YouTube ads.
