I have been using Ryobi since they first came out with the first style of the dark blue. I like the drills, circular saws. Glad they finally have the lithium ion batteries. I wish they would come back with the first Wet vac that they had. Holds about 1 gal. I still have mine and It is starting to wear out.the newer ones are to big. The 1 gal size is great for walking around the house and cleaning the corners without moving furniture. Dog hair and dust bunnies pick up quick.its also great to clean up the work bench and craft tables.

I purchased A 40v line trimmer in July 2015. Two years later the battery starts to fail. I called customer service and gave them all of the required serial numbers. Woman tells me the trimmer was built in 2015, but the charger and battery show they were built in 2013. I told her all three came out of the same box, brand new. I'm told that's not possible, because all three pieces are manufactured within 12 weeks of each other. I decided to open the charger case to see if there was any info inside. Behold, the circuit board inside the charger had a "Oct 24,2011" date printed on it. So it appears the 'within 12 weeks' is a load of crap, and their way of not honoring their 3 year replacement warranty. No more Ryobi products for me!

I bought the 40volt trimmer, and the 40 volt blower. The blower was ng and they sent me a new one. The trimmer was repaired under warrantee, new motor, and switch. Took over a month to get it back from local HD. Now it's out of warrantee the battery wont work after I use 1/4 of the charge. Ryobi says too bad. Their parts come from a different company, and they want $160 for a battery. HD sells it for $99. Low use, and just out of 3 year warrantee, and I have to buy a $100 battery. My neighbor bought the trimmer, battery, and charger on sale for $108. I'll NEVER buy Ryobi CRAP again!!!

I was specifically told to purchase this brand by a well meaning friend. My 40v blower worked for 3 months and is now broken. I have been waiting over 45 days for the replacement battery and charger. I never hear the same story from customer service. The $169 spent was wasted. My yard looks terrible. Customer service seems unconcerned with my problem although I have made several calls to try and settle the situation and gain information. They do not follow through when they say they will. The quality of the product is very, very poor. I wish I had seen this site before purchasing my blower.

Purchased a Ryobi edger from Home Depot
Wanted to inspect spark plug and while doing that the wire going to ignition module broke w/o putting any pressure on the wire. Upon investigating found Eire to be very brittle and size of a pencil lead tip Checked
Wire and found to be too weak/skinny for that system
Any ideas the edger is close to a year or little over a year Very poor quality thanks. Randal Stefanick

I bought the rechargeable 18 volt blower and while using it to blow leaves the fan just flew apart very disappointing I had it less then a year. I had to buy two more batteries just to clean my yard.

The trimmer burnt up on the first use. I would never get another product from this brand ever. I had misplaced the receipt and by the time I had access to it the warranty was just 5 days over the warranty period. It has been a complete waist of money and time to buy this piece of crap.

I bought a Ryobi cordless dry vacuum at the local Home Depot store. Cost $24.99 without a battery (I had an 18-volt battery and charger for other Ryobi One+ tools.) I FAILED TO KEEP THE RECEIPT !!! Home Depot says they will exchange the tool at the store level if it fails within 90 days. After that, Home Depot tells you the Ryobi 2-year warranty prevails. THE VAC FAILED AT 5 MONTHS. Ryobi said it in 4 words: NO RECEIPT, NO WARRANTY! WORDS TO THE WISE: KEEP YOUR RECEIPT ALWAYS !!!

Love it! Lighter and shorter for us short women. I've used a bunch of different brands over the years. Any thing's better than the old edgers. This was the easiest to assemble and first time start was amazing. It's AMAZING! Time will tell. Two thumbs up...from a woman!

Purchased a Ryobi Forstner 7 pc Drill bit set 1"-2". There is a quality issue with these drills and though the price point is low, tempering of the shank is substandard. The 2" Forstner bit snapped at the shank on first use. Drill was set in the tail stock of a lathe and the lathe was operating at less than 600RPM which is the max for this bit. Material being drilled was seasoned maple.
Smaller bits seem to operate fine. Conclusion: You get what you pay for. Note on box said that "item is a consumable" I took drill bit to Home Depot and they said to contact the company.
I replaced the 2" Forstner bit with a more expensive (and durable) Frued brand made in Austria. Problem solved.

I bought an electri blower that came with a 40v lithium-ion battery. Iy lasted about one month before it died.A new one is $100. This thing is a worthless piece of junk.

Bought the battery operated nail gun.
Worked great until the original battery died & would no longer hold a charge in just 2 months.
Bought a backup battery the another as they were not holding the charge.
The charger that came with the unit indicates a full charge but the unit is useless until I resolve whatever is causing the issue.
Ryobi is a throwaway !!!

Brought my Ryobi hedge trimmer in for warranty repair (gear failure) and it's been 10 weeks. Repair facility has been waiting for parts. Very disappointed in Ryobi. You would think they would have inventory during the summer months when repairs would be at their highest. Used the trimmer attachment to my weed eater maybe 10 times and the gears failed.

Ryobi trimmer auto feed has got to be one of the biggest frauds in trimmer history. Ryobi not the only one but I would expect there is not one that works. If other don't complain it is because they don't use their trimmer!! Basically how can you people sell this crap??
Anonymous-138730.... June 23rd, 2014
do not buy a ryobi cordless drill,
doesn't hold charge and really expensive to replace, i had 2 batteries lose charge,
and when i complained i was told i should have charged it regularly both batteries monthly
so all in all not only expensive to replace high maintenance is required as well
Anonymous-127975.... January 2nd, 2014
Ryobi batteries are the worst I have ever had. Their ability to hold a charge has been the absolute pits! If you don't use it immediately they go dead. This has been the norm since I purchased them at Home Depot. Dewalt or Sears beat them hands down. (At least my first battery drill purchased at Sears lasted for a number of years. Dewalt still is the leader for longevity and power.

I purchased a Ryobi T430 wheeled trimmer 3 months ago, have only used it 3 times because it cuts the line after only a couple of minutes of use. You can feel how sharp it is where the line comes out. Checked others at the Home Depot and they are all the same (or worse!)

Poor quality
I have a four stroke weed whacker and it has not worked right from the day I go it. It is hard starding, and the shaft has now broke. I would highly recomd not purchaing this product.Anonymous-112798.... June 1st, 2013
Batteries are crap! Have had 2 sets, neither lasted much over a year - supposedly have a 3 year warranty but not worth the hassle of doing the exchange! Will throw my tops in the junk pile and go back to DeWalt for my cordless tops!
PS - Am sending batteries to your recycle program.

I have several Ryobi tools.Your power tools are great but your 2 stroke engines leave a lot to be desired.I have 3 off your 2 strokes & ihave had nothing but grief from them.If I donot receive an answer I will never recommend Ryobi again.I am sick & tired of pulling my shoulder out trying to start them.

Bought a Ryobi 4 cycle leaf blower new in May of 2012. It vibrates so badly, the blower tube had to be taped to the housing. The blower gives me "white hands" from the vibration.
Ryobi's solution? "See if you can sell it and buy another brand". Could not give it away for $60 at a yard sale. Paid $201.
If I had known that 4 cycles were prone to high levels of hand grip vibration I never would have bought it.

Rubbish power tools. And a shocking customer service.
I am the owner of a Q45 series petrol power washer,a great machine, until something goes wrong. in my case the screw in outlet pipe that the pressure hose attaches to snapped off. After emailing several Uk spare parts people im being told i will have to buy the hole pump assembly to get this small aluminium pipe. What a joke! To have this pipe, fitting would take less than a minute. The pump assembly will cost as much as the machine. I have emailed Ryobi direct twice and still no response. I will never again buy anything Ryobi as there attitude and customer service sucks. My machine will now end up in a skip. Thanks Ryobi.Anonymous-38314.... September 16th, 2011
I bought a Ryobi Sonic tape some time ago (more tha a year). I used it once when finishing my basement. I recently had an occasion tn use it again and it doen't work. I tried a new battery but it did not help, it still doesn't. Ryobi says their warrantry is only one year. I guess it means that the Sonic Tape is just a one use product and doesn't have any lasting durability.
