Installation was supposed to be January 26th?

Hook-up is what?  The same as Installation or Activation of account?

It is possible that your installation was postponed due to a scheduling conflict.  Possibly no one at AT&T had corrected vacation schedules online to correspond to the installation technicians.

Another possibility is equipment out of stock and therefore the need to reschedule.

The best way to find out is the contact AT&T U-verse to inquire.  1-800-288-2020 and press # for a live Customer Service Rep during business hours Mon-Sat 10:00am-8:00pm EST 

Keep that phone number handy - it is also good 24/7 to be connected to Technical Support in the event of a problem with service.
