Firmware Update For Alesis Forge Module

Hey so I haven't played my kit in 2 or 3 years now and when I went to turn it on I was met with "Firmware V 1.0.2" ans then immediately turns off. I tried factory resetting the module by pressing the < > buttons while holding the power button but nothing happens. It just keeps shutting off. It won't let me to anything to it. I even registered the drum set to Alesis' website and it shows no Firmware or software downloads for it. Please help! Thank you!

The issue you're facing with your Alesis Forge Kit turning off and displaying "Firmware V 1.0.2" followed by a shutdown can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Power Supply:

Double-check the power supply: Ensure the power adapter is properly plugged into both the wall outlet and the drum module. Try using a different power outlet if possible.

Verify the adapter voltage: Make sure the power adapter voltage matches the required voltage for the drum module. Using an incorrect adapter can damage the module.

2. Factory Reset:

Try a different factory reset method: While holding the power button, press both the "<" and ">" buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. This should initiate a factory reset.

Alternatively, try the following: Power on the module while holding the "Pad 1" and "Pad 8" buttons. This might trigger a different reset mode.

3. Firmware Update:

Check for firmware updates on Alesis' website: Even though your registered kit doesn't show any updates, it's worth checking the Alesis Support page for the Forge Kit. Sometimes, updates might not be automatically linked to registered products.

Contact Alesis Support: If you can't find any firmware updates or the reset methods don't work, reach out to Alesis Support for further assistance. They can help diagnose the issue and provide specific troubleshooting steps or repair options.

Additional Tips:

Disconnect any external devices: Disconnect any external MIDI controllers, triggers, or pads connected to the module. Sometimes, these devices can interfere with the module's operation.

Check for physical damage: Look for any visible signs of damage to the power cable, the power port on the module, or the module itself. Physical damage could be preventing the module from functioning properly.

Remember, if none of these troubleshooting steps work, it's best to contact Alesis Support for professional assistance. They have the expertise and tools to diagnose the problem and get your Forge Kit back up and running.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
