If you have already replaced the wiring harness and tested the hi-hat connection, there could be a few other possible causes for the issue with your Alesis DM7X Kit's tom 3. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the trigger itself: Make sure the trigger pad for tom 3 is clean and free from any debris or obstructions. Sometimes, dust or dirt can affect the trigger's performance. Clean the trigger pad using a soft cloth and ensure it's properly aligned and securely fastened.
  2. Adjust trigger settings: The drum module of your Alesis DM7X Kit should have settings for adjusting sensitivity, threshold, and crosstalk. Try adjusting these settings specifically for tom 3 to see if it improves the response. Consult the user manual for instructions on accessing and modifying these settings.
  3. Swap the trigger with another pad: If possible, try swapping the trigger pad for tom 3 with another trigger pad from a different part of the kit. This will help determine if the issue lies with the trigger pad itself or with the drum module.
  4. Check the cable connections: Ensure that the cable connecting the trigger pad to the drum module is securely plugged in at both ends. Sometimes, loose connections can cause intermittent issues. Additionally, inspect the cable for any visible damage or wear that could affect the signal.
  5. Test with a different drum module: If you have access to another compatible drum module, try connecting tom 3 to that module and see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with the drum module or with the trigger pad.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact Alesis customer support or take the drum kit to a qualified technician for further diagnosis and repair. They will have the expertise to identify and resolve the problem with your Alesis DM7X Kit's tom 3.
