Blue Screen Vs White Screen

Recently one of our TV sets went from blue to white as a background screen for menu, lists, guide, etc. In a call to you 1-800 number I as told, after some waiting time on hold, that this was an effect of recent changes to HD TV issues. My other sets are not acting this way. The white screen has most letters in a outlined grey color but with a normal small tv picture in the upper left corner. Can this be corrected to the way it was before? It is a Visio 42' screen about a year old.
