How Do I Collect Money On A Ticket I Did Not Use, Due To Rerouting? Jeni Upchu

I reserved  around-trip flight with Expedia from Washington, D.C. to Albuquerque, New Mexico last spring.  I had to return early and had to pay full-price.  I would like to have an immediate refund on my return ticket to D.C. immediately.  Please check your records and advise when you can mail the check to me.  It is unlikely I will be travelling in the next year, so I need to have my funds returned to me.
