Is The Firestone Site At King St Northampton Ma A Franchise Store?

I recently brought a Subaru WRX into Firestone on 04/17/13 to have water removed from the tank.  Afterwards the car was still having problems. Subaru was called and said to have Firestone recheck their work to be sure they hadn't by accident done something wrong.  If nothing was found to be wrong with the work done by Firestone Subaru said the service needed would be underwarantee. I went from Firestone to Subaru and after running around and Subaru said it was almost sure the problem was caused by faulty spark plugs.  I immediately told them that it was not because the car was driving with no problems other than the check engine light coming on, criuse control not working and electronic sway control not working.Due to the high cost of replacing the spark plugs and labor I asked Subaru to guarantee that in fact the problem was the spark plug.  Subaru at that point to prove to me it was in fact a spark plug problem put the electronic tester on my car and immediately in a humble voice admitted it wasn't the spark plugs it was the gas cap.  Well I tighten the gas cap and every function came back online.  Now the point I'm trying to convey is that I went back to Firestone and shared my experience.  I was telling the service rep I originally spoke to that had he followed my request to check for any problems with the car which included using his computer reader he would have catch the problem right away.  The service rep apoligied for not following my instructions and while I was having my conversation told him I was Bi-Polar and was not directing my upset with him personally but at the request for service I did not get. While having my conversation with the service rep a man unknowned to me made a comment about our conversation and I told him the conversation had nothing to do with him and to mind his own business.  He abuptly told me he was the manager.  I then could not believe that if he had heard the conversation he didn't try to resolve my upset.  Now the point of my email is that Firestone did work on draining the gas, however did they take the fuel cap off, I don't know, did they put the computer tester to check for problem(s) I do know cause the service rep admitted he hadn't honored my reques.  Final point AI've been a customer and feel the manager should have stepped in earlier, I feel the computer tersted if used would immediately resolved the problem, however I was told it was not used to save me money.  The money wasn't the issue fixing the expensive car was.  Did Firestone forget to tighten the gas cap?  Who knows.  Outcome of the whole matter had Firestone followed my request to determine the problem I wouldn't be writing.  In addition I was doing a favor for the person who owned the car and finally I was after all was said and done was told by the person who owned the car that "I was no longer welcomed at the Firestone location"  I feel I did noting wrong and my upset was vbalid.  The manager did nothing to help non did he have any conversation with me other than tell me "He was the MANAGER"  I don't personally care who he is.  What I wanted was to have my car fixed and his title means absoluely no meaning if he did nothing to help. Ban me fron the site I must repectly say "Who the hell is he"     I've use Firestone for a number of years and as a customer did not get the service I requested.  The manager did nothing to help me but was the first to decide I was banned from his site.  If anything he should have apoligied and got involved with my reequest to fixed the car.  As a matter of fact I was told the mechanic who worked on the car said he did nothing that would have caused the problem.  So why was the gas cap loose cause thats what caused the problem.   I've been what I feel a good customer for a period of timen and have spent a good amount of money with you folks.  I am upset that the manager didn't tell me to my face that I was banned from his store however did it via a conversation with the person I was helping.   One final note the store billed the wrong person and they totally flipped out in the store.  The person was the mother of the owner of the car. My understanding this is not the first time this site has billed the wrong person  for the company that owns the car: LOSS PREVENTION LLC,  If in fact this is a franchise store I will honor the managers wishes and go to a Firestone corporate store.  If this is a corporate store I expect you'd want to be informed of this incident.   Please advise me if you no longer want my business.  If that be the case I'll find someone else who does.    I'm retired from AT&T and my function was Customer Service manager for our whole country.  I know what customer service is and I did not get it at this Firestone site.   Sincerely yours, Christopher R. Lane   Original Service advisor    ason Main Service performed"  remove backset and drain fule tank.   MY name Christopher R. Lane

To see if it's a franchise store, you need to phone Firestone at 800-847-3272.

To complain about your treatment you can use the same number or write [email protected]. You can call parent company Bridgestone at 800-367-3872, or write Bridgestone at POB 6397, Bloomingdale, IL 60108.
