I Cannot Make My Hotmail Show The Junk Folder

a new account for email does not offer security filtering options nor does it display the junk/spam folder - I have tried to create a folder named junk but that is not allowed. I also KNOW I have recieved several emails, but because they are not in my contact book, they are marked junk - without access to the junk folder I cannot add them to my contact list !
