Model St227p Broken Spring
the spring to the traction control cable broke. where does this connect underneath when the bottom plates are removed? Is there a hook up or clutch plate say on the back wall away from the belts?

If the spring for the traction control cable has broken, you may need to replace the entire cable assembly or just the spring.
