Sears Gargage Door Partially Working

I have the following gargage door opener 41A5021-2F. Up until last week it worked fine using the remotes to open and close the gargage door. Now what is going on is ->that I can open the door fine with the any of the remotes, but using the remote(s) to close the door the gargage unit lights flashs (like there is something across the motion sensor) and the gargage door does not move. I saw nothing across the sensors and have now unwired the sensors from the gargage door unit. Still I have the same results the light flashing and the door not moving at all to the close position. The ONLY way I can close the door is by going to the wall button which is wired directly to the gargage door unit pressing it and holding it down until the gargage door gets to the close position. If I let my finger off the button the doors movement stops and the light flashs. I know it is cold with the weather can this be the problem, do I have wait until the spring to get this to work, never had to before?
