Yesterday I Was Trying To Make A Free Phone Contact To My Friend Through Skype

service but i was unable to make contact as nether i or my friend could hear each other although when i cicked on phone I could hear the phone ringing. Also I could not see any message poping up to indicate any specific problem. Both my microphone and speaker were connected and on. Please help me to find out wht caused this problem.
