Mobile Hotspot Monthly Charge

I bought a 4G Thunderbolt with the unlimited $30/mo data plan in early June and was told by Verizon sales rep. that the Mobile Hotspot feature was included. The Hotspot worked fine until yesterday. Now I get a message stating that this feature must be activated and added to my plan for an additional $30/mo. What is up?
