Unit Isn't Working, Compressor Is Hot, Coils Are Warm?

Both the fridge and the freezer stoped working. The compressor is hot, the fan is blowing, when we turned it off and on the coils iced up immediatly and then defrosted immediatly and stayed luke warm. The fridge is 3 years old.
