Can't Burn From Itunes Due To: Registy Errors... Driver Errors... Software???

I recently bought a refurbished desktop.  I downloaded itunes, purchased music, then tried to burn it onto a CD-R.   The screen came up but said that there was no disc recording software found (and I know that the computer has burner software because previous to DLing itunes, I had copied and burned a pre-recorded CD).  I've tried changing the play list, I've checked the songs, I can't figure out why it's not reading the burner.  When I close and re-open itunes another error message pops up: Registry settings are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please Re-install I-tunesI have repaired and re-installed several times; I still get the error message and still no disc recording software found.Somewhere (I can't remember where or how, it's all starting to run together) I saw some kind of error or support message that said there could be an issue with the driver.   Is that a computer problem or an itunes issue?  Can anyone help??
