Sanatizing Hotmail

Yestereday, I received an email from email administration to sanatize my account by clicking on a link. I clicked but received Effor 404 - Page not found message. I want my hotmail account to remain in tact. Please help me immediately. I cannot afford to lose my hotmail address.
